COVID Vaccination Process at Wallis Avenue Surgery

Covid-19 vaccinations for our patients are being provided by GREENSAND HEALTH CENTRE, at   *1 Boughton Lane, Loose, Maidstone, Kent ME15 9QJ. There will be home visits for housebound patients. (*Please see map below).

Patients will be invited based on the national priority list. Please be patient and wait to be contacted about when the vaccine is available for you.

Please read the questions and answers below about our local vaccination service. Our phone lines are very busy; please help us to keep lines open for people needing to make appointments for other health matters.

Which priority group are you currently inviting?

As of 21st January we are currently inviting:

  • All those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers
  • All those 75 years of age and over

How do you prioritise who is invited first from people in each priority group?

As we have a team of people working through patient lists from across all the surgeries we are not prioritising who we contact first as everyone will be invited.

How are you contacting people to invite them for a vaccine?

We are telephoning people directly so it is really important that your contact details held by your surgery are up-to-date; this includes both your landline number and mobile phone number if you have one. Telephoning is the quickest way for us to contact people due to the number of patients involved, but please remember our number will show as PRIVATE or WITHHELD so please take our call.

If I cannot attend an appointment what should I do?

If you have received and accepted an invitation for a Covid-19 vaccine we would strongly encourage you to prioritise coming to the appointment. If for unavoidable reasons you cannot make it please call 01622 742959 to cancel so we can invite someone else.

Is there transport available for getting to the vaccine clinic?

We would ask that anyone who does not have their own transport tries to arrange a lift with a friend or relative. If that is not possible unfortunately we cannot arrange transport on your behalf, but would suggest you contact a local COVID volunteer group who may be able to help.

How can I stay up-to-date with the progress of the local vaccination programme?
